Coastguard cottages. 1865. Red brick with ashlar dressings with slate
roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with cill band, string course
and quoins to parapet with 3 asymmetrically placed gabled projections
will ball finials with 4 stacks from left to right. Wooden casements
in stone surrounds, 7 bays in all, those on ground floor with separate
top lights. Two projecting porches with parapets, with boarded doors
with fanlights on return sides. Arched boarded door with ornately
scrolled strap hinges in gabled porch with marble colonettes. Part of
an open courtyard complex. (Busson, Ramsgate, 107).
