Coastguard cottages. 1865. Red brick with ashlar dressings with slate
roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with cill band, string course and
quoins to parapet with 3 gabled projections with ball finials and 4 stacks
ranged from left to right. Wooden mullioned windows in stone surround,
paired on projections, mullioned and transomed on ground floor, with 2
projecting porches with boarded doors in return sides, and recessed on left
wing in projecting gable. Part of a courtyard complex and reflecting,
although not perfectly symmetrical with the block Nos. la to 2 (item
10/409 ) . (Busson, Ramsgate 107).
