C16. At the south-west corner of the west rectangle of the garden walls to Scadbury

Street making the pilgrimage to Canterbury. This is older than the house and
is a timber-framed building now faced with red brick and flints. Two storeys.
Hipped tiled roof. Sprocket eaves cornice. The interior has a blocked in mullioned
window. Documents of the 1570s showed travellers who died in the Pest House.
In the C19 a drying floor was inserted and 2 stock brick circular hop kilns added
which at a later stage had crenellated parapets added.
