Partly in the parish of Darenth. The original house, now demolished, was called
Brook Place, and was rebuilt by Sir Thomas Smythe, diplomat and navigator, who died
in 1625. The contemporary garden wall is from about 3 to 8 ft high, built in red
brick in English Bond and has a dogtooth cornice and hipped coping. North-east
side has blocked in brick archway. Some patches of stock or modern brickwork.
