House. 1824 (dated from deed evidence). ragstone rubble with
brick dressings to rear, stuccoed to front; Kent tile hipped
roof. Double-deptch plan with lateral stacks and stair rear of
centre. 2 storeys and attic. Front: symmetrical 3-window range.
2 light casement to flat-roofed central dormer. Parapet with
moulded cornice; 1st floor plat band. 12-pane hornless sashes
in reveals under flat window arches to 1st floor; ground floor:
round-headed 12-pane sash windows in arched recesses: central
round-headed doorway with panelled door and fanlight. Rear: 4
16-pane hornless sashes with tumbled brick window arches; central
round-headed 18-pane sash stair window. Interior: cramped open-
well stair with stick balusters; some panelled doors with
surrounds and other joinery. There is some evidence to suggest
that the house was heightened to accommodate an attic.
