GV II
Retaining walls, angle piers and steps. They stand opposite No
315 High Street (qv) and probably bound the street side of the
garden once belonging to that property. Circa 1800. 2 gault
brick walls (in Flemish bond with stone dressings); cast-iron
railings with Gothick tracery panels and spear-headed dividers
above. 2 2-centred arched recesses in wall at east and west,
formerly closed and blazed, perhaps for lamps. Central stone
steps leading up and into garden. 2 angle piers at east and west
with stone caps. Included for group value with No 351 High
Street and the castellated garden building now part of St
Bartholemew's Hospital (qv, Reference 13/162).
