Public Baths

TQ 7555 NE 1/134 30.3.73.

1851-1852 by Whichcord and Aspitel. This consists of a portion of 1 storey
red brick set endwise to the road. Hipped slate roof. Central portion has
stout balustrading with central shield and scroll. Stone moulded cornice,
end quoins, rusticated pilasters and 3 round-headed arches, the centre one
with a blank shield above, the others with vermiculated keystones. 2 round-headed
sashes in moulded architraves. On each side there are portions of 1 storey,
of slightly lower elevation, with sash windows. Late C19 red brick swimming
bath is attached on the left hand£side.
