2/160 Nettlestead House

GV II

House. Early-to mid C17. Timber framed with plaster infilling
on first floor, painted brick on ground floor with C20 close-
studding to gable ends. Plain tile roof. At right-angles
to road. 2 storeys, attic and cellar. Widely spaced
studding of relatively slight scantling with one curved tension
brace. 4 timber-framed bays. Roof hipped both ends. Central
brick ridge stack. Irregular fenestration of three 2-light
casements to south elevation. Ovolo-moulded wood mullion windows
in rear elevation. Plank door in left gable end. Single-
storey timber-framed rear wing to left. Interior has exposed
beams and joists.
