Public House. Early C19 with later C19 alterations. Remains of C16
timber-framed building to rear. Ground floor painted brick in
Flemish bond, fishscale tiles to first floor, with plain tile
roof. 2 storeys on brick plinth. Projecting eaves with flat
soffits. Half-hipped roof. Small projecting stack to left end on
low stone base; red and grey brick with tumbled off-sets. 2 gabled
dormers. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing-bar sashes. Long C19
rear wing to left in same materials, with brick ridge stack to either
end and two C20 half-glazed doors. Short rear wing to right, joined
to left wing and in same materials. One storey and garret with tall
brick stack. Wing at right angles to rear of right wing, parallel
to front range and abutting end of left wing: C16, timber framed, ground
floor clad in painted brick, first floor with plain tiles, plain
tile roof. 2 storeys. Roof hipped to right with gablet. Interior
partially inspected.
