of north porch of
Church of St. Mary
GV II

Monument. Late C18. Stone. Rectangular plinth with moulded
base corniced top, and recessed corners containing fluted
Corinthian quarter columns. Surmounted by urn resting on stone
base. Formerly railed. Inscription on west side largely illegible,
dated circa 1777 by J. Newman (West Kent and the Weald, 1980
edition). East side to George Powelle, d. 1853.
