CARING LANE
Bridge at Fulling Mill Farm
GV to north-west of Farmhouse
II
Packhorse bridge. C18. Stone rubble bridge with brick parapet and voussoirs. 1
headed arch with stone keystone. Downstream side has longer parapet. Upstream side
has 1 brick end pier. Interesting as a reminder of the fulling process. When the
cloth had been filled it was stored in the end bay of the farmhouse and later loaded
on to packhorses and taken over the bridge to the market.
