Farmhouse. C15 with late C16 or early C17 alterations. Timber framed with
plaster infilling. Plain tile roof. Wealden, with 2 roughly equal-length
hall bays, that to left subdivided, and storeyed end bays. 2 storeys on
stone plinth. Broadly spaced studding. Tension braces and arch braces.
Right and left end bays jettied on solid brackets, jetties returning on
moulded dragon posts. Arch-braced flying wall-plate and solid bracket under
central tie-beam. Steeply pitched hipped roof, with gablet to left.
Projecting stack to left end. Brick stack in front slope of roof to right
section of left hall bay. Irregular fenestration of 5 windows; one 3-light
casement to each end bay, one 9-pane fixed light over door, one 2-light
leaded ovolo-moulded mullioned window under stack and 5-light ovolo-moulded
mullioned rectangular oriel window on 3 shaped brackets to right hall bay.
Broad cill just above ground cill to right hall bay. Boarded door within
durns, with short moulded brattished beam over, to left end of hall. Interior
not inspected.
