House and shops. C18 with later alterations. Ground floor chequered red
and grey brick, first floor patched red brick, partly in Flemish bond.
Mathematical tiles to first floor of right gable end, with banded plain
and fishscale tiles above. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and garret.
Triangular wooden modillions to eaves cornice. Half-hipped roof. Brick
stack in rear slope of roof, to left of centre. Irregular fenestration of
3 windows; one 16-pane sash in open box towards left end and 2 recessed
sashes with marginal glazing bars towards right. 2 ground-floor shop
fronts. Boarded door with segmental head to No. 53 to left end. Boarded
double doors to Nos. 55 and 57 slightly to right of stack. Continuous
pentice on straight braces with weatherboarding to ends and plain tile
roof. Later C19 rear additions. Interior not inspected.
