Late-C19 painted iron water pump.

It has a tapering reeded shaft with ring-moulded base on square plinth, with a ring of water-leaf-inspired decoration towards the centre. The conical cap is ribbed but the handle and spout are plain.

It was moved from the High Street in the later C20 to Day's Green but later returned to the High Street.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION
The late-C19 Pump adjacent to No 30 High Street in Headcorn is designated at Grade II for the following principal reason:
* Architectural Interest: A good example of a late-C19 water pump that reflects historical use of utilities in this form.
