Public house. Early C17 or earlier, possibly of 2 periods, with late C18
or early C19 facade. Timber framed, rendered, with plain tile roof.
Approximately 4 timber-framed bays. 2 storeys on rendered plinth. Partly
exposed framing to rear of 2 square panels per storey, with arch braces, and
2 juxtaposed principal posts towards stack. Hipped roof, with gablet to left.
Multiple brick ridge stack in second bay from left. Truncated stack to right
gable end. Irregular fenestration of 4 sashes on each floor; 2 tripartite
sashes flanking stack and two 16-pane sashes towards right end. Panelled
door to left end and half-glazed door towards right end, both with flat
bracketed hoods. Interior: only partly inspected. Exposed framing.
6-light diamond mullion window and 4-centred arched doorhead to rear wall.
Stone fireplaces.
