Monchelsea Place

GV II

Archway. C16 or early C17. Ragstone with tooled ashlar dressings. Round-
headed archway, broadly chamfered to east with high vase chamfer-stop, rebated
to west with outer order chamfered with broach stops to head of arch only.
Short length of wall each side of archway, rising to stone-coped gable with ball
finial. Formerly set within east perimeter wall of a courtyard lying to south
and south-east of Boughton Monchelsea Place. Removed further west, probably
in C19.
