GV II

Garden gateway. Dated 1604, but possibly earlier. Stone, with roughly-
coursed stone wall each side. Moulded 4-centred stone doorway, with ribbed
door, up 3 stone steps. Shallow off-set immediately above doorway. Plain
ashlar frieze and triangular stone-coped gable with short octagonal end
finials. Date 1604 carved towards apex. Flanking walls ramped up to gateway
and extending about 20 feet to right and left.
