2/72 The Malthouse

27.8.52 II*

House. Late C16. Timber framed and exposed, close-studded on the ground
floor, oramental ogee bracing and mid rail on first floor, with plaster
infill. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys and continuous jetty on dragon
beams, return to right. Central projecting 2 storey gable, jettied at
first floor and gable. Roof hipped to right, gabled to left, with central
stack. Two 4 light wood mullioned windows on first floor and 2 light
mullion in central gable, and 2 renewed oriels on ground floor with side-
lights. Central plank and stud door in four centred arched and moulded
surround with sidelights.
