House, C16 altered C17. Timber framed and-rendered, underbuilt with red
brick with red brick and mathematical tiles on return elevations. Plain
tiled roof. Wealden hall house in origin. Two storeys, now with continuous
jetty and hipped roof with stack to left. Three sashes on first floor, and
2 canted bays with glazing bar sashes to left and to right on the
ground floor, and door of 6 raised and fielded panels with rectangular
fanlight to right. Rear wing with kneelered parapet gable. Interior:
evidence of cross passage. Crown post roof, the main moulded octagonal
post in the hall area on a longitudinal beam rather than a normal transverse
tie.
