Hall-house.C15. later much altered. Timber framed, now mostly hidden by over-
laid incised plaster, except for the occasional bracket. Steep plain tiled
roof with central stack and gable to south end. South return front with brick
chimney breast, weather-boarded and jettied. Overhang to left of facaded
with canted bay windows beneath. Canted bay in centre of facade. 2 storeys,
irregular 3 window facade. C19 casements on ground-floor, tripartite sashes
above. 2 early C19 doors, that to the right in fluted, pilastered doorcase
with panelled entablature. Extension to rear of building including 1-storey
wing, possibly part of an oast-house originally. Red brick. Contains very
large fireplace. Interior: Some early C17 panelling, a doorcase and a volute
bracket in hall. Roof with extremely elaborate carved crown post and 2 king-
posts.
