Railway station. 1856, for the South Eastern Railway. Red brick with yellow brick dressings and Welsh slate roof. Rectangular block with public rooms below and stationmaster's flat above. Two storeys, four windows. Ground floor windows are arched 12 pane sashes recessed in arches with keyed heads. Yellow brick quoins. First floor band. Four nine-pane sashes above. Deep eaves on brackets, hipped roof with brick stacks. Single storey extension to either end with panelled doors. Platform front similar with valanced canopy to ground floor, upper floor painted. Panelled screen wall flanks platform on either side.
