House. Early C19. Flemish bond brick on the 3 outer sides, the parts which
show above the adjoining Spring Cottage (q.v.) are tile hung; brick stack and
chimneyshaft; slate roof.

Plan: House is set back f m the street and faces south. The front is an end
wall. It has a 2-room plan with an axial stack between. Front entry to right
and passage and stair behind. 3 storeys.

Exterior: The 2-window front is asymmetrical with larger windows to right
above the doorway. The ground floor left window and first floor window above
it are secondary horned sashes without glazing bars. The other windows are
original; a 12-pane sash first floor right and 9-pane and 12-pane sash to the
second floor. The front doorway has a panelled door under a fanlight with
radial glazing bars with a secondary flat-roofed hood on raking timber struts.
All the openings have rubbed brick arches. Deep eaves with plain soffit. Low
pitch roof is hipped front and back.

Interior: Not inspected.

Spring House is one of a group of attractive listed buildings on the western
edge of Hadlow.
