Description

HILDENBOROUGH NOBLE TREE ROAD (north side)
TQ 54 NE
5/181 Little Foxbush
-
GV II

House. Probably C17 in origin, refronted in the early C19. Brick, the front
elevation painted white, the right return tile-hung on the first floor; slate
roof, brick stacks.

Plan: The house faces south on to Noble Tree Road. 2-rooms wide with a
central entrance and a double-depth plan with 2 stacks to each end. The right
(east) end stack to the front is massive and suggests that there may be an
early core to the house. Interior inaccessible at time of survey (1988).

Exterior: 2 storeys. Hipped slate roof with deep eaves on paired brackets.
Symmetrical 3-bay front with a central gabled porch, a C20 glazed front door
and 3 first and 2 ground floor 16-pane sashes, probably early C19. The right
end stack has tall, paired, handmade brick shafts.

Interior: Not inspected but may retain features of interest.
