Formerly used as almshouses when the house belonged to the Sayers family.
An alms window survives on the west side. A timber-framed building, dating
from the C13, with some timbering and close studding exposed in the north
wall, now with herringbone brick infill to first and attic storeys and rendered
to ground floor. Two overhanging gables, one very widely. First floor overhangs
widely on brackets, having a moulded wooden bressummer with crenellations.
Three casement windows with renewed heads and small square leaded panes. Wide
4-centred wooden doorway with carved spandrels. The interior contains a small
portion of a Norman undercroft. C15 crown post roof. C15 solid block stairs,
inglenook fireplace, and screens passage.
