House, some time public house and shop. Circa 1500 and extended C20.
Timber framed and exposed with painted brick and plaster infill.
Plain tiled roof. Wealden hall house plan of 4 framed bays. Two
storeys on plinth with jetties to left and to right on dragon posts,
with recessed centre bays, eaves carried across on arched braces.
Hipped roof with stack cluster to right. Wooden casements to left
and to right on 1st floor with 2 central 4 light frieze windows.
Multi-paned bay to left, 2 central glazing bar sashes and sash to
right on ground floor. Panelled doors to centre left and to left,
and half-glazed door and picture window to left in C20 lean-to
outshot. Formerly the Six Bells Inn, subsequently Post Office/Bakery.
