SD 56 NW OVER KELLET KELLET ROAD

7/139 The Gables

GV II


House, mid C19th. Coursed sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and
slate roof. 2 storeys. Windows rebated and chamfered with mullions and
hood moulds. West wall of 2 bays, the left-hand bay being gabled with a
4-light window on the ground floor and a 3-light window on the 1st floor.
The right-hand bay has a 3-light window on the ground floor with a one-
light plain chamfered window to its right. The chimney is between the
bays. The left-hand (north) gable wall has a gabled porch with a 2-light
window on each floor. The roof projects at the gables on shaped purlin
ends.
