side of Lower Bank House

Boundary stone known as Askell's cross , C19th, probably replacing earlier
stone. Sandstone. Rectangular plan, with 2 opposite faces chamfered to form
Latin cross. West face inscribed: 'T'. East face inscribed: 'C'. Part of
this boundary stone is in Thurnham C.P. (q.v.).
