Description

SD 45 SE COCKERHAM

12/59 Sundial base south of Church
- of St. Michael

GV II

Sundial base, C18th, sandstone. Comprises a fluted Doric column with
cyma-moulded capital, socketed into a semi-circular step with nosing. The
semi-circular step and flattening of the column towards the top suggest that
the sundial base was formerly set against a wall.
