Silk spinning mill, converted from water-powered corn mill in 1792, extended
1830s, closed in 1971 and now divided into factory units. Sandstone rubble
with slate roof. Early range of 3 storeys and with 11 bays facing north-east
Windows have plain reveals and glazing bars, but some are now blocked or
partly blocked. The 1830 block is of 2 storeys on the east side, which has 7
shallow gables facing the street and windows with plain reveals and small
panes, the upper ones horizontally pivoted. Under the 6th gable is a wide
entrance with sliding door. Interior Early range said to have wooden joists
supported on the outer walls. 1830s addition has wooden floors and cast-iron
columns.
