7/89 Low House Farmhouse

GV II

House, late C17th, altered. Slobbered rubble with steep stone slate roof.
2 storeys. Main house of 2 bays. To the left on the ground floor is a
4-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window. To the right is a 6-pane
sash with rebated and chamfered surround. At the far right is a blocked
fire window. On the 1st floor are sashed windows with glazing bars and
plain stone surrounds. The door, between bays and under a C20th porch, has
a surround with moulded jambs and chamfered lintel. At the right is a 3rd
cell, with no obvious straight joint, probably always a service room. It
has a window with a door to its left, both with plain reveals. To the left
of this door is a chimney. A 2nd chimney on the left-hand gable has
weathered offsets. The left-hand gable has a coping with kneelers.
Interior not accessible at time of survey.
