GV II

Former entrance to Hornby Castle grounds, probably mid C19th. Comprises a
sandstone rubble wall with coping, stepped up over a central wide entrance
with chamfered surround and Tudor arch, this arch being flanked by similar
smaller gateways. Above the central archway is a re-set stone carved with
an eagle's claw and date '1660'.
