SD 66 NW TATHAM

2/82 The Hill Farmhouse

House, late C18th. Squared sandstone with steep slate roof. Double-depth
plan. 2 storeys with cellar, 3 bays. Facade is a symmetrical composition
with alternate rustication. Windows sashed with glazing bars and plain
stone surrounds. Cellar has low windows at front ground level, with plain
stone surrounds. The doorway has 7 external stone steps, a plain stone
surround, and a moulded hood whose console brackets each have 3 guttae.
The door has 9 panels. The gables have chimneys and copings with kneelers.
At the rear is a tall stair window with 2 transoms. Interior has panelled
doors, a dog-leg stair with ramped handrail and stick balusters, and
fanlights over 2 doorways opening into the stair hall.
