House, C17th with later additions. Slobbered rubble with slate roof. 2
storeys. Earliest part, facing north-east, of 2 bays. Left-hand
ground-floor window, originally of 4 lights, has central mullion remaining
and has glazing bars. It has a hood and the surround has a rebate, roll
moulding, and chamfer. To the right is a window with glazing bars and
enlarged rebated and chamfered surround. On the 1st floor is one window
with plain reveals and one with rebated and chamfered surround. The
left-hand gable wall has lean-to additions on the ground floor and a
one-light chamfered 1st floor window. The right-hand gable wall has a
stack projecting with offsets. A stone corbel built into its left-hand
side is above the base of a cheese press. To the right of this gable,
facing north-west, are additions of later C18th or early C19th date. These
are of 2 bays and have windows with plain reveals. To each side are doors
with plain reveals. Inside, the front part of the house has its roof truss
exposed on the 1st floor. It has a tie beam, raking queen struts, and is
ceiled above the level of the collar, which has decorative moulding in its
centre.
