6/105 Rose Cottage (formerly listed as
4-10-1967 Cottage adjoining Rose & Crown
Store)

House, 1691 with rear wing slightly later. Sandstone rubble with roof of
stone slate at front and of slate and tile at rear. 2 storeys. West wall
of 2 bays with 2-light rebated and chamfered windows with restored
mullions. Door, between bays, has plain reveals. Left-hand gable chimney.
Left-hand gable wall has 2-light wooden-mullioned 1st floor window. The
adjoining wall of the rear wing has a rebated and chamfered window
surround with central mullion removed on each floor. Chimney on rear
gable. Inside, the front range has exposed ceiling joists and a shouldered
stone fireplace whose lintel is inscribed: 'RC 1691'. The rear wing has a
wide segmental-arched fireplace with bread oven.
