SD 66 SE TATHAM LOWGILL

6/109 Lowgill House and farm store
4-10-1967 adjoining to south

GV II

House, 1777, with farm store probably early C19th. Squared coursed
sandstone with tile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Windows modern with plain
stone surrounds. Door, in middle bay, has plain stone surround under
modern glazed porch. Above is a plaque inscribed: 'ACI 1777'. Gutter
carried on shaped brackets. To the left the farm store is of rubble with a
roof of stone slate and slate. It is of 2 bays and has windows with plain
stone surrounds. Those on the 1st floor have glazing bars. The ground-
floor one is sashed. The door, in the right-hand bay, has a plain stone
surround. Chimneys on gable of house and of store.
