House, 'J R 1826' on plaque over door. Furrowed sandstone ashlar with slate
roof. House a symmetrical composition of 2 storeys and 2 bays. Windows
sashed with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. 1st floor sill band
and eaves cornice. Door has plain stone surround, the jambs treated as
Tuscan pilasters and the head semi-circular with fluted keystone. Adjoining
to the left is a bay of sandstone rubble, probably of the same date, with a
wide segmental-arched entrance (now glazed and part of the house) with
herringbone tooling to the voissoirs and a window above with plain stone
surround.
