SD 64 SW CHIPPING

4/97 Fields Farmhouse

House, late C18th. Pebbledashed rubble with steep slate roof. Double-pile
plan with end stacks. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Windows have architraves and
later small sashes. The door has a plain stone surround and a stone porch
with fluted Doric pilasters and moulded pediment. Within the pediment is
inscribed a worn date '17-5'. Interior. The left-hand room has a moulded
shouldered fireplace with raised and fielded panels on the lintel. The
internal doors have raised and fielded panels.
