House, 'IHA 1700' over door lintel. Slobbered rubble with slate roof, the
left-hand stack having a brick cap. Double-pile plan with end stacks. 2
storeys, with a large central porch of 1½ storeys. The upper porch storey
oversails on a string course on the front and left-hand return walls. To
each side of the porch are mullioned windows with an inner ovolo moulding
and outer chamfer and a hood; to the left one of 4 lights, to the right one
of 3 lights. To the left on the 1st floor are the remains of a similar
surround, now forming part of the jambs to a tall sashed window. To its
right, above the porch, is a window with plain reveals. To the right of
the porch is a 5-light window with an outer chamfer and inner hollow chamfer.
The porch window, above the door, is of 2 lights with an outer chamfer and
inner cyma moulding. Its right-hand return wall has a small fixed window
with glazing bars and the remains of double-chamfered jambs. The left-hand
return wall has a similar window with plain reveals. The outer porch doorway
has a moulding which continues across the lintel in a zig-zag pattern. A drip
mould rises over the lintel and over the date plaque. The inner porch doorway
is chamfered with a debased 4-centred head and decoration and date on the
lintel, now obscured by paint. The rear (north) wall has ground-floor
mullioned windows with outer chamfer and inner ovolo moulding, of 2 lights,
one light (formerly larger), and 5 lights. On the 1st floor are the remains
of surrounds with outer chamfer and inner hollow chamfer. Inside,the left-
hand front room has a wide moulded segmental-arched fireplace, now partly
blocked. Stair and 1st floor not accessible at time of survey.
