Houses, part of a row, late C19th or a conversion of earlier buildings.
Limestone rubble with sandstone dressings and stone slate roof. 2
storeys. No. 8, to the right, has, at the left, a double sashed
window with plain stone surround and square mullion on each floor. To
the right is a sashed window with plain stone surround on each floor,
the 1st floor one at the far right over the door. The door has
chamfered stone jambs and a re-set shaped lintel, possibly early C18th.
No. 8a is set back to the left. It has a door to the right with plain
stone surround. To the left are external stone steps to a 1st floor
doorway whose right-hand jamb is of dressed stone. To the right on the
1st floor is a sashed window with plain stone surround. Chimneys at ends,
between Nos. 8 and 8a, and set back from the ridge of 8a. Listed for
group value only.
