House, C17th, altered. Coursed sandstone rubble with slate roof.
2 storeys, 5 bays. Windows mullioned, with inner hollow chamfer
and outer chamfer, some restored. To the left of the single-storey
gabled porch (in the 4th bay) are ones of 5 lights, 3 lights and 5
lights. To the right is one of 3 lights. On the 1st floor are
windows of 5 lights, 3 lights, 4 lights, 2 lights and 3 lights.
The porch, dated 1912 on a sundial plate over the door, has an ashlar
front and chamfered doorway with Tudor-arched head. Stone
gutter corbels. Chimneys, with grouped octagonal rendered caps,
on left-hand gable, between bays 2 and 3, and between bays 4 and 5.
Gable copings. At the rear are C20th extensions in keeping. Interior.
Exposed main ceiling joists. Centre room has C18th fireplace with
fluted false keystone, taken from Bolton Hall. The right-hand room
has a shouldered fireplace with Tudor-arched head, possibly late C17th.
