House, late C18th. Pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings
and roof of slate and stone slate. The north-west facade is a
symmetrical composition of 3 storeys and 3 bays. The outer bays
have tripartite sashed windows with glazing bars, the lights being
divided by wooden sash boxes, within plain stone surrounds. In the
centre is a very large stair window rising through the 1st and 2nd
floors, its right-hand half with glazing bars, the left-hand side
blank with painted glazing bars. It has a plain stone surround with
ogee head, stepped keystone and impost blocks, and is divided by a
mullion and a transom. The door has a stone surround with semi-circular
head which rises under an open pediment supported on attached Tuscan
columns. Adjoining to the left is a lower wing of 2 bays, the left-hand
bay having windows similar to those of the main house. The right-hand
bay has windows with plain stone surrounds,the 1st floor one having
a central square mullion. The south-east facade of the main house, of
2 bays, has tripartite windows similar to those at the front and a
central gabled stone porch. The gables have chimneys and copings.
