House, C17th. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. 2 storeys with
attics. South front has mullioned windows with inner hollow chamfer and
outer chamfer. At the right-hand side is a cross-wing, which has a 5-light
window with hood on the ground and 1st floor. Above is a blocked
chamfered attic window. To the left of the cross-wing are 5-light and
2-light windows, with hoods, on the ground floor. On the 1st floor is
one of 4 lights, with a window with plain stone surround and glazing bars
to the right. The left-hand part of the building, of the same build, is
used for agricultural purposes. It has a 3-light mullioned window with hood,
and a blocked window above on the 1st floor. To the right on the ground
floor is a blocked narrow chamfered doorway. Chimneys between farm building
and house, to left of cross-wing, on right-hand wall of cross-wing (with
projecting stack), and on rear wall of cross-wing. The north wall has
windows mainly of C19th type. To the right on the ground floor is a blocked
one-light chamfered window. At the left, adjoining the cross-wing, is the
main doorway, with chamfered surround and Tudor-arched head. To the
right is a door with plain stone surround. The east wall of the cross-wing
has a 2-light mullioned window, and, towards the south, a one-light
chamfered window blocked by a flagstone with '1714 RA' in raised cement
letters. The farm building has a 3-light mullioned window on the ground
floor. Above,at intermediate levels, are 2 blocked one-light chamfered
windows. On the 1st floor is a pitching hole with plain reveals. Interior
said to have exposed ceiling beams.
