Milestone, probably c.1900 and later re-sited after road widening.
Cast iron, bolted onto sandstone support. Triangular on plan
below, rectangular above. Lower part has 'SKIPTON 14 MILES' inscribed
on left-hand face, and 'CLITHEROE 4 MILES' inscribed on right-hand
face. Upper part has semi-circular top and is inscribed 'SKIPTON &
CLITHEROE ROAD. SAWLEY'.
