Wall Farmhouse
-
GV II

Barn, probably early C18. Handmade brick with cobble base, some stone quoins,
corrugated sheet roof. T-shaped: 3 bays with very wide outshut porch
incorporating lofted storage each side of the central wagon entrance;
H-patterned breathers to the porch, diamond pattern to the set-back outer
ends, which have doors with stone surrounds. The principal feature of
interest is the roof truss which has a kingpost raised on 2 short legs from
the hips of which rise long struts with slight double curve like arms (perhaps
deliberately anthropmorphic). Included for group value only.
