5/25 War Memorial

War memorial, 1920s, by Sir Charles Reilly. Ashlar. Temple-shaped
pedimented plinth mounted on T-shaped 2-stage stylobate and bearing
a statue of Compassion in front of a large obelisk with 2 embedded antae
which have fluted faces and Ionic capitals of Bassae; steps on each
side in front of the plinth, the outer retaining wall of which carries
bronze plates which bear the names of the fallen.
