Farmhouse, now house. Probably earlier C17, altered. Handmade brick with
stone quoins at ground floor, slate roof. T-plan: 2 bays with 2-bay
crosswing at west end. Two storeys; some remains of diaper pattern of blue
headers, one lozenge remaining at lst floor of north side; all openings
altered but breaks in coursing of bricks in line with ridge chimney at
junction of bays in centre of north side suggest former doorway here; altered
3-light casement each side, that on the right breaking into remains of former
brick mullion window, 2 smaller altered casements at 1st floor, the lozenge
between them: gable of wing to right has segmental-headed stairlight, and one
altered window on each floor; right return wall of this wing has a tall
projecting chimney stack, to the front of this the outline of a small former 2
or 3-light window, and to the rear the outline of a square window, both under
the eaves. Left gable end has lintel of former door near front corner; rear
has all altered openings, including modern porch to 1st bay and French windows
to wing. Interior: altered, but 2nd bay and both rooms in wing have beams
with deep rounded chamfer with cyma stops; modern staircases in front bay of
wing and at end wall of 1st bay said to be in original positions.
