Rectory to parish church of St. John Evangelist, probably 1840. Red brick
with sandstone dressings, slate roof with ornamental bargeboards.
Double-depth, 3 bays. Two storeys, in simple Jacobean style, symmetrical;
Tudor-arched doorway with moulded sandstone surround, arched fanlight with
hollow spandrels, hoodmould; 2 windows at ground floor and 3 above, all
12-pane sashes with hoodmoulds. Left gable wall has 3 windows on each floor
and one in the attic, all like those at the front except that at rear of
ground floor which is a canted bay, but those in the centre are false (fully
glazed, but backed by a wall painted black). Listed for group value only.
