Farmhouse. C17, in 2 builds; recently (1985) renovated. Coursed sandstone
rubble with quoins, slate roof with brick chimneys. Gable to road, original
front to east; earlier part at north end 2 bays, later part also 2 bays but
longer and of greater depth, projecting to the rear. All 2 storeys; on east
side a gabled single-storey porch, overlapping the junction (marked by quoins
of north part), has door in left side and small peepwindow in gable wall; to
the right the older part has recessed chamfered mullion windows of 2 and 3
lights at ground floor, casements of 2 and 3 lights above; to left, the other
part has 2 casements on each floor. Rear of older part has small 3-light
mullioned window and a damaged and blocked 2-light window at ground floor, an
inserted window above; rear of other part has a chamfered firewindow near the
corner and a recessed multiple-light mullioned window (at least 6 lights, 2
mullions lacking) covered at the right end by a modern wing, and a 3-light
casement above. Interior: inglenook fireplace with 1/4-round moulded
bressummer; 2 chamfered beams; otherwise altered.
