House, probably mid C18. Handmade brick, slate roof. L-plan, 2 bays, the
2nd projecting with roof carried down. Two storeys; doorway in angle,
another in re-entrant of projection; to left a large segmental-headed
window with gauged brick head, above this a 2-light casement with run-out
wooden lintel (glazing altered); front of 2nd bay has fixed 15-pane
horizontal rectangular window with similar wooden lintel, and a 2-light
casement above. Chimney behind ridge at left gable. Right return wall
(forming side of approach to Town Bridge) has a blocked large opening at
ground floor and a little one above. Rear wall has stepped vertical joint
at junction of bays, lean-to addition to lst bay, 2-light casement with
glazing bars at 1st floor of 2nd bay and inserted window below; this wall
raised by 4 courses, the raised part continuous and carried over the
stepped break by a wooden beam. Interior not inspected.
