8/77 The Lodge

House, later C18. Brick, the facade painted white, slate roof.
Double-depth 5-bay plan. Two storeys, and attics; symmetrical; central
door under porch of 2 Tuscan columns and 2 semi-columns with flat cornice;
4 windows at ground floor and 5 above, all segmental-headed 12-pane sashes.
Integral chimney at left gable, 2 projecting chimney stacks at right gable.
At left end a low 2-storey extension with hipped lean-to roof, and a door
at ground floor, and continued to left a screen wall. Left gable otherwise
has sashed windows with stone lintels and 2 attic windows, one with very
small panes. Rear has central stairlight, only the upper 2 stages now
exposed, a latrine turret beside this under carried-down roof, and a boxed
12-pane sash on each side at 1st floor, but is otherwise altered.
